Our Grandmothers’ Kâak Warka Recipe

Kaak Warka

Ingredients – kâak warka dough:

  • Flour 1kg
  • Butter 400g
  • Rose water 350g

Ingredients – almond stuffing:

  • Fine almond powder 500g
  • Icing sugar 200g
  • Rose water 100g

1) Kâak warka dough: Mix the flour with the softened butter (at room temperature). Add the rose water and knead until you obtain a smooth dough. Leave to rest for a few hours.

2) Almond stuffing: Combine the almond powder and sugar together then incorporate the rose water to obtain a homogeneous texture.

3) Spread the dough into a thin layer (1mm thick) using a rolling pin.

4) Form the stuffing into small sausages (5cm)

5) Wrap the stuffing with the dough.

6) Assemble the two ends to form a very round washer.

7) Bake at 180° for 10 minutes.
